PhpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin or pma, is a web-based management environment for MySQL databases. It's pretty much the default management environment for beginners and casual work. For more serious work, it is too limited.

If PMA is installed locally, you can probably access it at http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

Installation (Nov. 2016)

On a recently installed workstation, PMA was installed using sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin

Installation (April 2017)

A piece of cake indeed:

• sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin
• Used dbconfig-common to create a database
• PMA is now available at http://localhost/phpmyadmin/
