Google Business Profile
Google Business Profile (formerly My Google Business), Google Bedrijfsprofiel or just Bedrijfsprofiel is a service from Google.
Some things it can do:
- Inclusion on Google Maps
- Reviews - that can subsequently be incorporated in Google Ads or on websites
- Inclusion on SERP pages (see image somewhere around here)
- Inclusion address in Google Ads Location Extensions.
Like usually for Google services, this service is associated with a Google Account.
Identify the Google Account
A Google Business Profile (GBP) is directly associated with a specific Google Account. This means that to manage or claim the GBP for a business, you need access to the Google Account that owns or has management rights to that profile. While tools like Google Merchant Center and Google Search Console are valuable for various business operations, they do not provide direct access to manage a GBP. Each of these services operates independently, and having access to one does not grant access to the others.
If you're uncertain which Google Account manages the GBP for the business, you can request ownership or access by following these steps:
- Find the Business Profile on Google Maps or Search
- Claim the Business: Click on "Claim this business" or "Own this business?" link
- You will now see the first and last character of the email address. That's probably enough to figure out what email address it is.
