This command in action + sorted for the column with the formula. I had to use
$ around the cell references to avoid some slight complications - Works swimmingly
Pretty cool:
=COUNTIF(A2:A147; A2)
this will count how many times the value in A2 occurs in the colum from A2 to A147.
