Conflicterende productgegevens (Amazon)

Het probleem

Als je een tijdje bezig bent met optimaliseren van productgegevens op Amazon, krijg je vroeg of laat dit soort meldingen:

100	0220	8542	Error	

   The SKU data provided conflicts with the Amazon catalog. The standard_product_id value(s) provided correspond to the ASIN  B007XQ9123, 
   but some information contradicts with the Amazon catalog. The following are the attribute value(s) that are conflicting: 
   item_package_quantity (Merchant: '' / Amazon: '2'). If your product is this ASIN, then modify your data to reflect the Amazon catalog values. 
   Else, check your value(s) for  standard_product_id are correct. 

   The SKU data provided conflicts with the Amazon catalog. The standard_product_id value(s) provided correspond to the ASIN  B00HYET234,

   The SKU data provided is different from what's already in the Amazon catalog. The standard_product_id data provided matches ASIN B00HYEN789, 
   but the following data is different from what's already in the Amazon catalog: 
   part_number (Merchant: '023x' / Amazon: ''), item_name (Merchant: 'xxx' / Amazon: 'yyy'). If this is the right ASIN for your product, 
  update your data to match what's in the Amazon catalog. 
  If it's not the right ASIN, make sure that your data for standard_product_id is correct. 

Dit zijn trouwens slechts twee regels in een 'upload-raport'

Oorzaak

Ik denk dat matching gebeurt op basis van EAN-code, maar dat is niet wat in de tekst van de foutmelding staat: Daar lijkt het te gaan om matching tussen sku en asin, wat ik heel raar zou vinden: Elke fabrikant kan toch z'n eigen SKU's gebruiken?

Aanvullende gegevens

• Amazon maakt onderscheid tussen stamgegevens en aanbiedingsgegevens. Als een product is voorzien van stamgegevens, kunnen deze niet zomaar aangepast worden. Dan krijg je dit soort foutmeldingen

Mogelijke oplossingen

• Nieuwe EAN-codes gebruiken. Nogal bruut, maar waarschijnlijk wél effectief en snel - Let op: Hierbij ga ik ervan uit dat matching op basis van EAN-code plaatsvindt.
• Er schijnt een manier te zijn om aan Amazon aan te geven dat jij de autoriteit bent betreffende stamgegevens van een bepaald product.

Casus: 176 nieuwe EAN-codes gebruikt (juli 2018)

• Amazon.de
• 176 Producten konden niet bijgewerkt worden vanwege conflicterende data (de foutmeldingen bovenaan dit artikel zijn hiervan afkomstig)
• Voor deze 176 producten nieuwe EAN-codes gebruikt en opnieuw ge-upload.
